• Guy Wood, O.S. Greaser, J.O. Jordan, Roy Stoner, Lee Watkins, W.C. Lee and R.C. Mundell were appointed as a conciliation board by Gov. A.W. Hockenhull. Following the plan of President Roosevelt to have boards in every county to look into the foreclosure of mortgages on homes and farms and attempt to save them for the owners.

• J.W. Bullington was re-elected Mayor over Arch Hurley by 106 votes in the city election.

• An emergency crop loan office was opened at the Quay County Courthouse in the county agent's office. Farmers could apply for loans in any amount from $25 to $250.
