Dolores Stallard Ramsey
Dolores Stallard Ramsey, 53, died April 9, 2003, in Ames, Iowa, after fighting multiple sclerosis for many years.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Stallard, she was born April 13, 1949, in Tucumcari.
She graduated from the University of Illinois and later served as an electronics specialist for the U.S. Navy in Spain.
She is survived by her husband, L.W. Ramsey.
Her remains were cremated and distributed in her garden in Ames.
Aurora Griego, 94, died Thursday night, April 24, 2003, in the Trigg Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Born April 7, 1909, in Trementina, she was a member of the St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
She had been a baker and was active in the baking business for 30 years. In the 1990s, she and her son owned and operated the Perfection Bakery in Tucumcari. She had been a resident of Tucumcari for more than 53 years.
She is survived by four daughters: Clara Vigil, Anita Dominguez, Isabel Griego and Flora Martinez, all of Tucumcari; two granddaughters she reared: Linda Griego and Diana Griego, both of Los Angeles; three sisters: Mary Segura, El Paso, Texas; Edna Sanchez and Marcelina Sandusky, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ricardo Griego in 1970 and by her sons, Richard Griego Jr. in 1979 and Max Griego in 2001.
Rosary will be 6 p.m. Sunday in the St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday in the St. Anne’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Leo Padget officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot of the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to the Helping Hands Hospice, 615 S. Second St, Tucumcari, NM 88401.
William J. Turpin III
William J. Turpin III, 57, died Thursday, April 24, 2003.
He was born May 19, 1945, in Clovis
He worked for Swift and Co., in Clovis for 15 years, Honetreat Co., for 10 years, then owned and operated Turpin Lawn and Tree Service for 10 years.
He retired in 2001 and moved to Logan, where he enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.
He had served in the U.S. Armed Forces and was a member of the American Legion Post 77 in Logan.
He is survived by his wife, Diana, Logan; a daughter: Tammy L. Phillips, Clovis; two sons: Wade D. Turpin, Hooker, Okla.; William Turpin IV, Clovis; a foster daughter: Colynn Davidson, Terre Haute, Ind; his father: William Turpin Sr., Normal, Ill.; mother: Wanda Carter, Clovis; a sister: Leslie Floyd and husband, Max; a brother: Kelly M. Carter and wife, Krissy, all of Clovis; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the American Legion Bingo Hall in Logan.
Services for Eugene Felkner, 90, who died Wednesday morning, April 9, 2003, will be 2 p.m. today in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
