James W. Stallings, 88, died Sept. 7, 2003, at Assisted Living in Logan.
He was born Feb. 11, 1915 in Decatur, Okla.
Mr. Stalling served his county in the U.S. Army and later was transferred from the U.S. army Aircorp to the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1950. Mr. Stallings was an aircraft mechanic and for many years, following his retirement was active in aircraft maintenance Family members said he loved flying. He received his first pilot license in 1936.
Mr. Stallings is preceded in death by wife Mary E. Stallings in Sept. of 1992.
Survivors include son Larry Stallings of Utah, two grandchildren and other relatives.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
Burial will follow at the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
The Rev. Wes Stewart will officiate.
