George F. Fredericks
George F. Fredericks, 82, died Sept. 28, 2003 at Laurel Hill Nursing Home.
He was born Feb. 19, 1921 in Rockaway, N. J.
Mr. Fredericks was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Tucumcari. He served his country in the U.S. Army and Army Aircorps during World War II. Mr. Fredericks worked for many years as an electrician in New Mexico. He also owned and operated his own electrical business in Las Vegas for many years before moving to Conchas Dam then later to Tucumcari. He was a member of the New Mexico Mounted Patrol, the Mesa Redondo Cowboy Association, member of the Good Sam’ Club and was a former member of the Salinas, Las Vegan and Conchas Dam Fire Departments.
Mr. Fredericks is preceded in death by wife Alice and his second wife Mary Louise.
Survivors include his wife Betty Fredericks of Tucumcari; daughter Lynda McCarty of Tucumcari and son Gerald Fredericks of Tucumcari; and three grandsons.
Services were today at the Dunn Memorial Chapel.
The Rev. Bob Civil and Rev. Fred Caton officiated.
Burial will be 3 p.m. today at the family plot of the Masonic Cemetery in Las Vegas.

Joaquin Martinez, 71, of Clovis, died Sept. 17, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. He was born Aug. 15, 1932 in Mosquero to Frank and Barbarita Martinez.
Mr. Martinez worked as a ranch hand for most of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Jacob Martinez.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara and Jose Montes of Encino; Julie and Albert Andrada of Tucumcari; Bonnie and Jimmy Cordova of Clovis; Cathy and Kevin Scaggs of Greenup, Ken.; two sons, Ernest and Loretta Martinez of Clovis and Danny Maes of Clovis; two sisters, Margaret Mata of Mosquero, Isabel and Alfred Ortiz of Pueblo, Colo., 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 20 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mosquero.

Lorraine Sullivan Watts, 85, died Sept. 28, 2003 in Amarillo.
She was born May 25, 1918 to Ray and Alexandrina Sullivan in Chicago, Ill.
Mrs. Watts married James Howard Watts, of Nara Visa, on July 15, 1939.
She is preceded in death by a sister, Corinne Sinnott; brother, Ray Sullivan Jr. and daughter, Maureen Dixon.
Survivors include daughter, Marcia Reed of Amarillo; son, Mike Watts of Cotter, Ark.; daughter, Nicki Pope and husband Ron of Cook, Min.; son Jim Watts and wife Ellen of Alpine, Wyo.; son, John Watts and wife Nancy of Tempe, Ariz.; sister, Adele Driscoll and husband George of Arlington Heights, Ill.; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A private service was requested by Lorraine.
The Rev. Ken Keller officiated.
