The First National Bank of New Mexico has been awarded the 2003 VIVA Award from the Association of Commerce and Industry of New Mexico.

The bank was honored at the Business Recognition Awards Banquet Thursday at the Sheraton Old Town in Albuquerque.

The VIVA Award is presented to businesses demonstrating vision, investment, vitality and action.

The First National Bank of New Mexico is a family owned community bank serving the Northeast quarter of the State and has branches in Clayton, Raton and Angel Fire, Tucumcari, and Logan.

“The First National Bank of New Mexico makes New Mexico a better place to live by providing progressive banking services to residents of the Northeastern portion of the State,” said President and CEO Craig Reeves. “We strive to offer state of the art banking technology while also providing uncompromising customer service.”

Will Cantrell, Senior Vice President in the Tucumcari office, said the bank originated in this area and is committed to bringing the best service possible this area. He explained that the corporate philosophy has three main aspects.

“To our customers, we strive to provide innovative banking products and solutions with traditional personal service and local decision making. To our employees, the bank provides a supportive work environment with opportunities for advancement through personal development and hard work,” Cantrell said. “To the communities where we do business, we strive for the bank to be a good corporate citizen while trying to return the investment, through contributions and other forms of support, that the communities we serve have invested in us.”
