Wilma Pauline Nabours
Wilma Pauline Nabours, 79, died Feb. 19 in Bushland, Texas. Nabours was born August 1, 1924 in Dogpatch, Okla. She was a long-time resident of Tucumcari and Logan. Nabours worked as a waitress and was a member of First Baptist Church in Tucumcari.
Nabours is survived by three daughters, Barbara Keith (Melvin) of Nara Visa, Pat Herring (Greg) of Bushland, Texas and JoAnn Norris (Eldon) of Amarillo, and three sisters, Margie Hudlin of Weleetka, Okla., Goldie Smith of Henryetta, Okla. and Louise Graham of Huntington, Ark.
Nabours is also survived by eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Nabours was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Nabours and a grandson.
Graveside services will be held Feb. 21 at 2:30 p.m. in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Drew Darling, pastor of Bushland Community Church will officiate.

Odessa Strawn
Odessa Strawn, 89, died at Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital Thursday evening, Feb. 19, 2004 following an extended illness.
Odessa Strawn was born April 22, 1914 in Limestone County, Texas. She had been a home maker. She also had been a beautician and worked at the Coopers Market for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters: Darlene Oliver (Jim) of Tucumcari and Wanda Joyce Yohn of Corinth, Texas, four grand children and their spouses and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband L.C. Strawn in 2001.
Funeral Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Tucumcari with Revs. Benny Hipps and David England officiating. Burial will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.

Tommy Proffitt
Tommy Proffitt died at her residence on Tuesday evening Feb. 17, 2004 following an extended illness.
Tommy Proffitt was born June 2, 1918 in Elkhart, Ill. She has been a resident of Tucumcari for a number of years moving to Tucumcari in 1993. She attended the First Christian Church in Tucumcari.
Proffitt is survived by her daughter Donna Dominguez of Tucumcari and her son Johnny Proffitt also of Tucumcari, two sisters Sarah Pickett of Tucumcari and June Irwin of Newton Kan., one brother Mark Glasco of Lakewood, Fla.
She is also survived by two grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Memorial services will be conducted on Monday morning at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church with Rev. Jim Witcher officiating.
