HOUSE – As good as the Logan girls were behind Nicole Rogers, they simply were not good enough to take out the House Lady Cowboys on Thursday night as they lost 59-38.
Simply put the House girls were dominating in their command of the court and their fierce shooting from inside.
Most spectacular for the Lady Cowboys was Lindsey Lee who accounted for 30 points during the course of the games. But she was not the only Lee to make her presence known on the court since Haily scored 14 points and Sara hit for 11 during the course of the game and the evening.
The House girls took command early stepping out to a four point lead at the end of the first quarter 12-8, widened to nine at the end of the half 24-13.
The Logan Lady Longhorns had just played the evening before defeating the Mosquero girls handily with Rogers doing to Mosquero what the Lee Girls did to Logan Thursday. But apparently, not much of that magic was remaining for Logan as they simply could not find the hoop as easily as they did against the Lady Pirates.
Forced turnovers and the fast break were two of the keys to the success of the Logan girls on Thursday. It must have seem to Logan fans and players alike that every time they turned over the ball, one of the Lee girls was heading to the hoop at the other end of the court. At the end of the third, the House lead stood at 14, 44-30.
The intensity did not let up in the final period either for either team, because the Lady Longhorns were not going to give up and the House squad knew that they would have to stay on top to secure the win.
