All of the players who were chosen in Quay County said they were honored to be chosen and some were nonplussed by the decision.
“What can you say?” said San Jon’s Trey Rusk, “I don’t know. I’m honored to be chosen for this.”
His feelings were echoed by many of the others who were selected.
“Well,” said Krista O’Steen of House, “It’s kind of a surprise, but a good one, that’s for sure.”
For sophomore Jake Abercrombie of Logan, it was also a positive experience.
“It’s pretty neat to hear that I’d been chosen. Yes, it’s pretty neat,” said Abercrombie.
Freshmen were not exempt from the excitement either according to Danielle Lee of San Jon. In fact it added to the whole experience.
“I like it, especially since it was in my first year,” said Lee. “I’m really happy.”
