Cordella Narbaez, 80, died Wednesday March 17, 2004 at Laurel Hills Health Care in Tucumcari. Narbaez was born May 21, 1923 in Miera.
Narbaez moved to Tucumcari in 1946 where she worked at Frank’s Busy Bee Restaurant and the Apache Motel.
Narbaez is survived by four daughters, Irene Montano (Pete) of Logan, Ruby Sierra (Jesse) of Tempe, Stella Narbaez of Albuquerque and Dolores Rivera (Patrick) of Tucumcari, and five sons, Ignacio J. Narbaez (Genevieve) of Amarillo, Steven Narbaez of Loveland, Colo., Patricio Narbaez (Janice) of Farmington, Merejildo Narbaez (Denise) of Phoenix and Peter Narbaez of Tucumcari.
Narbaez is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ignacio Joe Narbaez and her children, Faustin Ortega, Fedelina Ortega and Lawrence Narbaez.
Rosary was recited Friday evening at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari. Mass will be offered Sunday at 1 p.m. in St. Anne’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Leo Padget as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
