TMS excels at FCCLA state

Tucumcari Middle School’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America chapter participated in state competition April 29-May 1 in Albuquerque.

A number of local students took honors at the competition.
In addition to the competition prizes, one student, eighth grader Maria Garcia, was installed as a state officer and will represent New Mexico on the 2004-2005 State Executive Council and will attend the national FCCLA meeting in Chicago this July. According to the middle school’s FCCLA advisor, Jody Lamm, Garcia’s achievement is remarkable.
