Conchas Lake offers activities

Conchas Lake State Park will be offering interpretive programs and presentations each Saturday this month. The programs are free to the public.
On Saturday July 10 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Steve Cary, a New Mexico State Parks Ranger, will lead guests on a butterfly walk at the park. Cary is an expert entomologist . Guests will be allowed to observe, net, examine and release different butterflies of the area.
On Saturday July 17 a “Star Party” presentation with telescope viewing will be offered from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
On Saturday July 24 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. a boating safety program will be offered. The presentation will be especially helpful to new boaters as many fundamentals of boating will be taught.
A Paleontology in New Mexico presentation will be offered Saturday July 31 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Craig Currell, Director of the Tucumcari Dinosaur Museum will lead the presentation.
