The First Baptist Church will be hosting their fifth annual Thanksgiving Dinner for the Tucumcari community on Nov. 25, Thanksgiving Day.
The event will go from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m and will feature the standard Thanksgiving fair of turkey and all the trimmings including dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet patatoes, cranberrys and giblet gravey.
According to Debra Whittington of the First Baptist Church, everyone in and around the community is invited to the annual seasonal dinner.
“This is for anyone who will be alone on that day, has nowhere to go, or just wants to be with a bunch of people.” said Whittington about the Thanksgiving Dinner.
Whittington said that the people of the church feel it is a positive thing for both the people of the community and for the church to host the annual dinner.
“This is about the fifth year we have done this,” said Whittington about the dinner, “and it is such a blessing to us. Last year, we fed over 100 people. It keeps on growing and growing each year.”
