Cowboys, Cowgirls do well at tourney

The House Invitational saw both House teams do well.
In the Cowgirls opening game, Lindsy Lee led all players with 26 points followed by Kimberly Lyons with 15 as the Cowgirls defeated Hondo 57-24. Sara Lee and Shannan Land added six apiece.

In the Championship game, Lindsy Lee again led House with 30 points with strong games from Sara Lee with seven and six from Lane. The showing, however, was not enough as Roy won the game 65-48. Lindsy Lee was named tournament Most Valuable Player with Sara Lee and Lane being name to the All-Tournament Team.

The Cowboys beat Roy 53-37 with Nathan Foust scoring 28 points for his team. Shannon Byrum and Jon Widmark each had strong games recording double digit rebounds. Joe Ben Snipes and Kris Foust each added five points. In the Championship game, House faced the Vaughn Eagles. Nathan once again led the attack hitting for 26 points. He was followed by Kris Foust with 10, Lee Griggs with nine, Jon Widmark and Shannon Byrum with eight.

Nathan Foust was named the tournaments Most Valuable Player with Joe Ben Snipes, Lee Griggs and Kris Foust earning All-Tournament honors.
In addition six players from House earned honors by being named to the All-Tournament Academic Team. Lindsy Lee, Sara Lee, and Kimberly Lyons were selected from the girls team while Nathan Foust, Joe Ben Snipes and Kris Foust were named to the team on the boys side.
