Local takes top honors at Ranch HOrse contest

Ranch hands from throughout the west gathered in November to competed for the title of Top working Ranch Horse and among the winners was a Tucumcari resident and his horse.
Winning in the open/senior class was Terry Riddle, 23, and his horse Marvelous Sonitalena from Tucumcari.
Riddle, a recent graduate at ENMU in Portales, won the top score in his division and later came back in the finals and defeated winners from the Cowboy and Junior classes.
He will now advance to the Ranch Horse Association of America Finals in Abilene, Texas in May.
In October, Riddle competed in Gebo’s Working Ranch Horse Series in Lubbock where he won a saddle for his top performance and taking the series average.
Riddle is the son of Mike and T.J. Riddle of Tucumcari.
