The House Cowboys fell at Mosquero Friday, 61-60. The House Cowgirls also lost by a point at Mosquero, 48-47.
Cowboy Nathan Foust scored 48 of House’s 60 points, but Mosquero held on for a one-point victory after leading from the second quarter onward. Cowgirl Coach Marc Foust, speaking on behalf of Cowboy Coach Steve Foust, said Nathan Foust’s teammates understand their role when their scoring leader has the hot hand.
“Nathan’s teammates know they need to get him the ball when he’s hitting shots like that.”
Coach Foust said his Cowgirls turned the ball over late as Mosquero came away with a one-point win.
“We turned the ball over a couple of times late and it came back to bite us,” Foust said.
Lyndsy Lee was House’s high scorer once again this season, hitting for 26 points. Foust said her teammates helped out.
“Shannon Lane and Kimberly Lyons helped us sustain the game by hitting some shots.”
