Yesterday was election day for school board members in the area. The polls closed Tuesday at 7 p.m. with these unofficial results (winners are highlighted):

Position No. 3: Arthur L. White, 90; Ronald L. Stoner, Jr., 89
Position No. 4: Timothy L. Foster, 149
Captial Improvement tax question votes: For – 112; Against – 48

House-
Position No. 1: Vernon E. Aucutt, Jr., 50; Dwight Parker, 42
Position No. 2: Richard J. Elworth, 62
Position No. 5: Gary D. Hickman, 65
Captial Improvement tax question votes: For – 57; Against – 31

Logan-
Position No. 4: Larry W. “Bill” Cone, 185; Michael E. Perez, 146
Position No. 5: Martin J. Rogers, 216; Priscilla L. Hazen, 118
Captial Improvement tax question votes: For – 213; Against – 91

Tucumcari-
District No. 2: John M. Garcia, 33

Elections will be canvassed Thursday at the Quay County Courthouse for Tucumcari at 2 p.m., for House at 1 p.m., for San Jon at 1:40 p.m., Logan at 2:20 p.m. and Mesalands Community College at 4:30 p.m.
