The Texico Lady Wolverines were too much for Tucumcari Tuesday evening as the Lady Rattlers fell 58-29 in an away game.
Turnovers spelled defeat for Tucumcari as Texico players were quick to steal inbound passes.
The Lady Wolverines either made quick layups or drew fouls on layup attempts off stolen passes.
Tucumcari was called often for traveling in the game and finished with 12 turnovers.
Texico had only five turnovers for the game. The Lady Wolverines led all the way, picking up steam in the third quarter. Texico scored 21 points in the third quarter while
Tucumcari managed only six points.
Texico took a 30-13 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Whitney Spinks scored a team-high 12 points for Tucumcari and Amanda Tapia hit a couple of three-pointers to finish with eight points for the night.
It was the second time this season Tucumcari has fallen to Texico. Texico won 59-27 on Jan. 18.
The Lady Rattlers play at home against Clayton this Friday. Seniors and their parents will be honored.
