Rattlers sweep Santa Rosa Lions

The Tucumcari High School baseball team swept two games from Santa Rosa Tuesday. Rattler Coach Tony Alarcon said his team never quit.

Game 1
The Rattlers (10-6) won the first game 7-5 and it took three hours and eleven innings to get the job done. Matt Garcia had two RBI’s in the first inning. Andres Apodaca added an RBI in the fourth inning and John Sewell and Matt Braziel added hits to secure the victory. Sewell was the winning pitcher.

Game 2
The Rattlers won 4-3 in six innings. Matt Braziel was the winning pitcher. Coach Alarcon had nothing but praise for his team’s effort.

“They played with character,” Alarcon said. “They got the job done. They played as a team.”

The Rattlers are now tied for first in the district with Santa Rosa.
