• The New Mexico Heritage Preservation Alliance and New Mexico State Parks will co-host “Live from the LRC,” a teleconference seminar on advanced outdoor lighting, from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 18 in Santa Fe.
The event is open to everyone, but addressed specifically to lighting professionals, electrical utilities providers, facility managers, architects contractors and planners. Registration is $25 and includes lunch.

• New Mexico State Parks Interpretive Ranger and butterfly specialist, Steve Cary, will lead a butterfly walk from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on May 21 at Conchas Lake State Park.
Cary will teach about butterflies through observing netting, examining and releasing various butterflies.
Sturdy shoes, sun protection, binoculars, cameras and filed guides are recommended, in a press release from the park. The event is free with admission to the park.
