New Mexico Highlands graduation — The college in Las Vegas will hold its 2005 commencement ceremonies. Leveo Sanchez, and international banker and businessman will present the commencement address. Students graduating from the Tucumcari area are: Ramona Garcia-Smith, Juan Dominguez, Deborah Coning, Amy Adams and Laura Naylor.

l May 29 — The VFW Post and Auxiliary will be placing flags in Tucumcari Memorial Cemetery. Those wishing to help should arrive around 1 p.m. Those who know anyone who is missing a marker can come show the group. Post members and their auxiliary members will meet at 7 a.m. at the park.
l May 29 — Grady’s annual Memorial and Cemetery Dinner will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Grady School. The class of 1975 will be in charge of the program. Lunch will cost $7 for adults and high school students, $3 for grade school students and will be free for preschoolers.
l May 30 — VFW Post will hold a Memorial Day Service at 11 a.m. at Tucumcari Memorial Cemetery.
l June 9 – The Tucumcari Historical Research Institute will have a chuck wagon barbecue for members at 5:30 p.m. at the museum. Cost is $7.50 per person. Call 461-2773 for details.
