June 29 District 4-H results

Fifteen Quay County 4-Hers, 9 to 11, ventured to Hobbs last week to compete in the District 4-H contests. Here are results provided by Brenda Bishop of the New Mexico State University county extension service in Tucumcari:

• 1st place in Novice Home Economics Bowl Team with members Bethany Bishop, Sid Truelock, Jordan Runyan, and Dominic Pacheco

• 1st place in Junior Home Economics Bowl Team with members Carmen Runyan, Matthew Pacheco, Chris Arias, and Taylor Atwood.

• 1st place in Novice Home Economics Skill-a-thon Team with members Jordan Runyan, Sid Truelock, Dominic Pacheco, and Bethany Bishop.

• 2nd place in Novice Home Economics Skill-a-thon Team with members Tyann Ray, Blake Moon, and Randall Rush.

• High point individual winners in Novice Home Economics Skill-a-thon were:
1. Bethany Bishop, 2. Jordan Runyan, 3. Sid Truelock, 4. Tyann Ray, 5. Randall Rush

• 2nd place in Junior Home Economics Skill-a-thon Team with members Chris Arias, Matthew Pacheco, Taylor Atwood, and Carmen Runyan.

• High point individual winners in Junior Home Economics Skill-a-thon were:
2. Carmen Runyan, 4. Taylor Atwood

• 2nd Place team in Novice Horticulture with members Randall Rush, Dominic Pacheco, Rebecca Alden, and Bethany Bishop

• 3rd place team in Junior Horticulture with members Phillip Alden, Tyann Ray, Blake Moon and Sid Truelock

• 4th place team in Junior Horticulture with members Chris Arias, Matthew Pacheco, Taylor Atwood, and Richard Rush.

• 2nd High individual in Junior Entomology was Chase Thompson.

• 3rd place Novice Rifle Team with members Randall Rush, Dominic Pacheco, and Tyann Ray. 3rd High individual in Novice Rifle was Randall Rush.

• 3rd place Junior Rifle Team with members Matthew Pacheco, Chris Arias, and Richard Rush. 4th High individual in Junior Rifle was Richard Rush.

• 3rd place team in Novice Livestock Judging with members Rebecca Alden, Phillip Alden and Bethany Bishop. High Point Individuals for Novice Livestock Judging were 3rd high Phillip Alden and 4th high Bethany Bishop

• 3rd place team in Junior Livestock Judging with members Chase Thompson, Richard Rush, and Randall Rush. Chase Thompson was 2nd high individual in Junior Livestock Judging.

• In the Fashion Revue, Carmen Runyan placed 1st with her Sew and Go Quick Sack, Jordan Runyan placed 1st with her Sew Much Fun II X-Citing Pants and Taylor Atwood placed 4th with her Mix and Match II two-piece outfit.

• 1st Place novice Consumer Decision Making Contest Team with members Randall Rush, Dominic Pacheco, and Bethany Bishop. Novice Consumer High Point Individual were 1st Randall Rush, 2nd Dominic Pacheco, and 3rd Bethany Bishop

• 1st Place Junior Consumer Decision Making Contest Team with members Taylor Atwood, Matthew Pacheco, Chris Arias, and Richard Rush. Richard Rush was the high point individual for Junior Consumer Decision Making.

• In presentations Jordan Runyan received a first for her novice foods presentation and Carmen Runyan received a first for her clothing demonstration.

• 1st Place Novice Barebow Archery Team with members Dominic Pacheco, Sid Truelock, Blake Moon, and Jordan Runyan. Novice Barebow individual placings were 2nd Jordan Runyan, 3rd Blake Moon, 4th Sid Truelock, and 5th Dominic Pacheco

• Novice Release without Sights Archery 1st place individual was Bethany Bishop

• Junior Barebow Archery Individual Placings were 2nd Matthew Pacheco and 3rd Carmen Runyan.

• 3rd place Novice Horse Judging Team with members Rebecca Alden, Phillip Alden, and Blake Moon.

• 2nd place Novice Air Rifle Team with members Tyann Ray, Randall Rush, and Dominic Pacheco. Novice Air Rifle Individual placings were 3rd Tyann Ray and 4th Randall Rush

• 3rd place Junior Air Rifle Team with member Chris Arias, Matthew Pacheco, and Richard Rush.
