A New York native who professes a love for writing and adventure has been named managing editor for the Quay County Sun.
Ryn Gargulinski will begin her new duties next week.
Educated at Brooklyn College in New York, Gargulinski brings a bachelor’s degree in creative writing and a master’s degree in English literature with a minor in French and a thesis on the folklore of New York City subway workers.
She has written a weekly column for various newspapers and enjoys writing and reading poetry. She has been with Freedom Newspapers of New Mexico for three months. She will move to Tucumcari from Clovis, where she has been a staff writer.
“If you do not risk, you do not live,” Gargulinski said of her move from the Big Apple to the Land of Enchantment. She said her goal for the Quay County Sun is to help make it intriguing and fun to read.
Gargulinski’s writing credits include two books. “Bony Yoga,” a yoga guide depicted with skeletons, is being published in September. Her rat dictionary “Rats Incredible” will be at bookstores early next year.
