Leslie Roberts
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Baptist Church in Tucumcari.
Leslie Jewel Roberts, 75, of Tucumcari, died Saturday, July 16, 2005, in Albuquerque.
He was born on June 28, 1930, in San Jon, to Jewel P. and Hazel Gates Roberts.
He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Tucumcari. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. After his service, he returned to Tucumcari to farm. He studied animal husbandry at Eastern New Mexico University. He worked in construction in Winslow, Ariz., and for Currell Lumber Company, George Braithwaite Construction, and R.H. Hale Enterprises.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Toy Omega LaRue Roberts; and a brother, Samuel Roberts.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Roberts of Tucumcari; two daughters, JoDee Scholz (and husband, John) of Albuquerque and Melodee Stravers of Las Cruces; a sister, Patricia Douglas (James) of Modesto, Calif.; four grandsons, Joel Peter Scholz (Tracy) and Jeremy S. Scholz (La Donna), all of Albuquerque, Kevin N. Smith of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Aaron P. Smith of Grinnell, Iowa; five great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
The Rev. John Scholz and the Rev. Richard Bull will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Joel and Jeremy Scholz, Raymond Liles, Brad Douglas, Carl Roberts, and Gordan Runyan.
Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.

Juan Sandoval
Services: Have been held.
Juan Sandoval, 68, of Tucumcari, died Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Trigg Memorial Hospital of Tucumcari.
He was born on June 24, 1937, in Mosquero, to Juan and Carolina Sandoval.
He had been a member of the Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari and the Knights of Columbus. He was retired from the Tucumcari Public Schools where he had been a custodian for many years. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandchild; and two great-grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Albina Sandoval; a son, Ben Sandoval (and wife, Jaye) of Albuquerque; three daughters, Carol Corbin of Tucumcari, Dorothy Martinez (Jerry) of Las Vegas, N.M., and Juanita Telles (Gilbert) of Los Lunas; six sisters, Josie Martinez, Mary Uribe, Mary Stella Montiel (Angel), all of Tucumcari, Viola Pacheco of La Puenta, Calif., Dora Chacon of El Monte, Calif., and Adelina Cruz of Amarillo; two brothers, Vicente Sandoval (Julia) of Tucumcari and Sammy Sandoval of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Father Leo Padget officiated the services.
Burial was at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Dunn Funeral Home in Tucumcari.

Mary Pacheco
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari.
Mary G. Pacheco, 75, of Aurora, Colo., died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, in Aurora, Colo.
She was born on July 23, 1929, in Tucumcari, to Francisco and Beatriz Martinez.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Frumencio Pacheco; her parents; four brothers, Antonio, Alfonso, Daniel, and Juan Martinez; and a sister, Josefina Mares.
Survivors include 12 children, Jose F. Pacheco (and wife, Maria), Pauline Sena (Ignacio), Tomas Pacheco, Ramon Pacheco (Carol), Rita Carvajulca (Oscar), Jean Pacheco, Julie Barnes (Joe), Norma Scott and Beatrice Pacheco, all of Colorado, Gilbert Pacheco (Patty) of Tucumcari, Bernice Robbins (James) of Borger, Texas, and Leo Pacheco (Renae) of Albuquerque; 26 granchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place.
Burial will be at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari.
Arrangements were by Funeraria Latina East of Denver.

Herman Villanueva
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari.
Herman Villanueva, 42, died Saturday, July 16, 2005, at Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari.
He was born on July 14, 1963, in Tucumcari.
He was a member of the Catholic church. He worked in construction as a cement finisher.
Survivors include his mother, Carmen Rivas of Tucumcari; four daughters, Cassandra Villanueva of Amarillo, Christina, Daniel, and Alexandria Villanueva, all of Albuquerque; a son, Fabien Villanueva of Albuquerque; two grandchildren; three sisters, Theresa Rowe (and husband, Dwight), Violal Montano (Orlando), and Fatima Rivas, all of Tucumcari; four brothers, Marty Villanueva (Monica), Jesse Trujillo (Angie), Lawrence “Pancho” Rivas (Frances), and Robert Rivas Jr., all of Tucumcari; and other relatives including numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Matthew and Jeremy Montano, Pablo, Lewis, and Timmy Villanueva, Ernest Barron, and Thomas Gallegos.

Alcario Benevidez
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari.
Alcario Benevidez, 92, of Tucumcari, died Monday, July 18, 2005, in Clovis.
He was born on March 22, 1914, in Montoya.
He was a member of Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari. He was a farmer/rancher up until the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Benevidez; a son, Louis Joe Benevidez; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Benevidez of Tucumcari; two daughters, Mela Chavez (and husband, Carlos) of Tucumcari and Elizabeth Smith (Nathan) of Bell Ranch; two sons, Raymond Benevidez (Rosalea) of Albuquerque and Zeke Benevidez (Betty) of Tucumcari; two step-sons, Sammy Ortega (C.J.) of Mountain Home, Ark. and Cesar Contreras (Juanis) of Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico; a brother, Jack Benevidez of Tucumcari; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Dunn Memorial Chapel in Tucumcari.
Burial will be at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Steve, Robert L., Ronald Scott, and Charles E. Benevidez, Raymond Lee Chavez, Michael L. and Dennis Ulibarri, Louise Marshall, Laurie Ann Wolf, and Natalie Chavez.
