An Arizona man thought to be suffering from driver fatigue was killed about 1:15 a.m. on Sunday when his car rolled over and crashed on Interstate 40, about 10 miles east of Tucumcari, according to New Mexico State Police.
Glen Finkle Ellenburg, 79, from Mesa, Ariz., was westbound on I-40 in the left lane when his car traveled into the grassy dirt median.
Finkle Ellenburg’s silver 1997 Buick Park Avenue flipped as he tried to return it to the pavement, officials said.
The car came to rest on its roof, police said.
Finkle Ellenburg died at the scene. Officials said he was wearing a seat belt.
