4-Hers prepare for rodeo, show

Hundreds of New Mexico 4-Hers will compete for saddles, bits, belt buckles, belt pins, and other prizes in over 60 events held during the State 4-H Horse Show, and Quay County 4-H Rodeo. These events are hosted by the Quay County 4-H Council and every Quay County 4-Her and parent assists with the events.
The funds raised from these events will be used to help 4-Hers attend district and state competitions next summer, to send teams to national contests, and purchase equipment and training materials.
All events are held at the Quay County fairgrounds and end today.
Admission to the horse show is free. Admission to the rodeo is $2. for adults, $1 for children 6 to 12 and under 6 free.
Programs for the rodeo include both performances and are $2. Events to be held at the Quay County Fairgrounds.

Schedule of Events
Today
7 a.m. and 2 p.m. State 4-H horse show with jumping, reining, barrels and poles; awards will follow last class.
3:30 p.m. – Gates open for rodeo
5 p.m. – Rodeo grand entry and rodeo begins
