Worms, small jigs and flies provided plenty of action for anglers fishing for bluegill this past week. Fishing for all other species was a bit slow. There were some small black bass taken on finesse worms, crank baits and tubes and a few white bass taken by anglers trolling deep with crank baits.
Santa Rosa Lake
Fishing was rated as slow-to-fair for anglers using tubes, crank baits and grub for black bass and walleye. Fishing was fair using shrimp, liver and night crawlers in the evening hours for catfish.
Fishing was slow for all species.
The Ute Lake Marina has closed temporarily but the boat ramps are open and in good condition. Young anglers had the best time this past week using small jigs, worms and minnows for bluegill. Fishing was generally slow for all other species. There were a few black bass taken by anglers using top water lures, crank baits and tubes. Fishing was fair using liver, shrimp and worms for catfish. There are no reports on other species.
