Jefferson Harrison
1 p.m. (PDT) Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Santa Rosa, Calif.

Jefferson Oscar Harrison, 87, of Santa Rosa, Calif., died July 26, 2005, in Santa Rosa, Calif.

He was born on Jan. 3, 1918, in Tucumcari.

Family members said he enjoyed watching trains and hunting jackrabbits, and he had a great appreciation for music. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Gwen Miller and they moved to San Mateo, Calif. in 1947. He worked as a animal feed and supplement salesman for many years. They moved to Santa Rosa, Calif. in 1960.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Kathy Benedetti, Sydney Wolcott, and Jeff G. Harrison; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Margaret Oshier.

Burial will be at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.

Martin Romero
10 a.m. (PDT) Friday at Holland and Lyons Mortuary Chapel in Ridgecrest, Calif.

Martin “Tino” E. Romero, 27, of Ridgecrest, Calif., died Friday, July 29, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nev.

He was born on Nov. 2, 1977 in Las Vegas, N.M.

He was an explosive engineer for China Lake Naval Testing Center. He received a masters degree from New Mexico Tech in Socorro. Family members said he enjoyed hiking, mine exploring, and collecting bottles. He was a member of the New Mexico Historic Bottle Society and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Ridgecrest, Calif. He was a 1995 graduate of Santa Fe High School.

Survivors include his parents, Martin and Vonnie Romero; a sister, Ashley Romero of Rio Rancho; his grandmothers, Ida Romero and Bernie Dodson, both of Tucumcari; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
