Rattlers beat Tigers, remain undefeated

The Tucumcari Rattlers prevailed in a battle of unbeatens on
Friday, trouncing Raton, 33-0.

Tucumcari is 4-0. Raton is 3-1.

The shutout was the Rattlers’ second of the season. They’ve not allowed more than one touchdown in a game this season.

Eric Holt and D.J. Martinez paced an impressive ground attack.
Holt rushed for 210 yards on 31 carries. Martinez ran 108 yards and carried 12 times.

The Rattlers won their first three games by an average of 56 points, but Raton proved more of a challenge.

Tucumcari did not take the lead until eight minutes were left in the first quarter. That’s when Holt scored to give the Rattlers a 6-0 lead.

The Tigers managed just 148 total yards for the game.
Tucumcari led 27-0 by halftime.

Tucumcari is slated to travel to play the Loving Ravens next week.
