Michael H. Ross, 71, died on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, in Tucumcari.
He was born on July 19, 1934, in New York to Herbert and Beatrice Ross.
He attended Fishburn Military Academy in Virginia and graduated from high school in Washington, D.C. He attended the University of Maryland where he majored in engineering.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1960 and was an armament mechanic for 30 years, retiring in 1995.
Family members said he enjoyed shooting sports and classic cars. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra.
He is survived by three sons, Tucumcari’s Stephen Ross (and wife, Annette), Richard Ross of Miami and Ian Ross of Gambril, Md.; his sister Ellen Finkelstein (Sanford) of New Jersey; a grandson, Dylan Ross of Tucumcari; two nieces, Kami (Eric) of New Jersey, and Dana Finkelstein of Virginia; and good friend Jim Dickerson of Tucumcari.
Following his wishes, he was returned to Falls Church, Va., for graveside services and burial next to his wife.
Arrangements were by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
Services: 2 p.m. on Monday at the Dunn Memorial Chapel in Tucumcari.
Jacquelyn J. Rich, 75, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, in Tucumcari.
She was born on March 5, 1930, in Bush, Colo. She and her husband, Leonard Rich, have been making their home in Tucumcari for the past year.
She was preceded in death by her brother David Fister earlier this year.
She is survived by her husband of Tucumcari; her two daughters, Gwen McMartin (and husband, Duncan) of Bermuda, and Katherine Rich of Gainesville, Fla.; her granddaughter Magie Rich, also of Gainesville, Fla., and her future great-grandson, Logan; one brother, John Fister (Norma) of Cotopaxi, Colo.; and her sister-in-law, Jeanette Fister of Tucumcari.
Rev. Jim Witcher, minister of the First Christian Church, will officiate.
Interment will take place at Gainesville, Fla. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
