Monday — The Museum Board will meet at the Tucumcari Historical Museum on Monday at 3 p.m.
Monday — Rural Area Development (R.A.D.) Water Users Co-op will hold its monthly meeting at the Norton Fire Station one mile south on Norton Road at 5:30 p.m.
Monday — Tucumcari Public Schools Board of Education is holding a public forum, to provide information and a question and answer session on a proposed Student Drug Policy, at the Tucumcari Public Schools administration building at 2400 S. Eighth St. on Monday at 6 p.m.
Wednesday — Advent lunch is at Immanuel Baptist Church from l1:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. with donations going to Ministry of Hope.
Wednesday — Altrusa will have its Christmas Party by the Courtesy Committee and announce “Retired Woman of the Year” at La Cita at noon. Call Glenda Reid at 461-2244.
Wednesdays ongoing — Story Time for children ages 2 1/2 to 5 continues at the Tucumcari Public Library, with registration ongoing. Three sessions will be held on Wednesdays through Dec. 14. Story Time will begin again Jan. 18 and continue through April 5. Call 461-0295 for more information.
Wednesdays and Fridays ongoing — “La Voz” Hispanic music radio program airs on KTNM 1400 AM radio on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 to 10 p.m.
Thursday —In conjunction with the Annual Board Convention in Albuquerque Dec. 9 and 10, the San Jon Board of Education will conduct a special meeting to establish Superintendent Goals and Evaluation at the Homewood Suites in Albuquerque at 3 p.m.
Thursday — City Commission will meet at City Hall at 6 p.m.
Friday — Tucumcari Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) will meet for a carried-in lunch at the home of GiGi Parker at 11:30 a.m.
Friday — Mariachi Tenampa and Baila, Baila (Dance, Dance), sponsored by Quay Council for Arts and Humanities, Mesalands Community College and Elks Lodge #1172, will perform at Tucumcari High School auditorium at 7 p.m. with Fiesta Navidad Dinner and Dance with El Trio Los Gallos afterwards at the Tucumcari Convention Center. Dec. 10 — Chamber of Commerce hosts a visit with Santa Claus at Kvols “Wonderland” Park at the corner of Fifth Street and Route 66 Blvd. at 4 p.m. before the Chamber Christmas Parade of Lights. Setup for the parade is from 5:30 to 6 p.m., and the parade starts at 6 p.m. Parade route starts at Hines and Fifth streets, then heads west on Hines to 11th Street. From there it turns south on 11th Street to Washington, turns east on Washington to Fifth and then turns north on Fifth back to Hines. For more information, call the Chamber at 505-461-1694.
Dec. 11 — The Ninth Annual Helping Hands Hospice Home Tour is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m. with reception following at Everyone’s Federal Credit Union from 5 to 6 p.m. Tickets at $15 are available at Del’s Restaurant or from the Hospice office at 615 S. Second St. Call 461-0099 for more information.

Dec. 17 — The First Annual Christmas Wagon Train Mural Tour, presented by the Quay County Tourism Council and the Extension Service and narrated by Sharon or Doug Quarles, will leave on Saturday, Dec. 17, from the parking lot on Second and Center. The Caprock Creek Ranch Adventures wagon will make five runs — beginning at 10 and 11:15 a.m. and 12:30, 1:45 and 3 p.m. — with a limit of 20 people per ride. Riders must have a free ticket which can be obtained at the Extension Office in the basement of the courthouse. For more information call Brenda Bishop at 461-0562.
Dec. 18 — San Jon’s Festival of Trees will be held at the San Jon High School gym, with doors opening at 1:30 p.m. for the sweet shop and decorated tree viewing and a student program beginning at 2:30 p.m. Call 576-2466 for more information.
Ongoing — Eastern Plains Head Start program is accepting applications for enrollment in Head Start, a child development program for children ages 3 to 4. Educational activities, medical and dental care, nutritious meals and snacks, family assistance and special services for children with disabilities are provided at no charge to families.
