Today — A special City Commission meeting is being held at City Hall at 11 a.m. for a ceremony during which Mayor Mary Mayfield and City Commissioners will be presented a $900,000 grant check by USDA Rural Development Site Director Paul Gutierrez, city officials said. According to a release from the city commission, speakers will include aides to Senator Pete Dominici, Senator Jeff Bingaman and Congressman Tom Udall, as well as Paul Gutierrez and Mayor Mayfield.

The Caprock Creek Ranch Adventures wagon will make five runs — beginning at 10 and 11:15 a.m. and 12:30, 1:45 and 3 p.m. — with a limit of 20 people per ride.
