The following is a sample of calls received by Tucumcari police during the last few days. According to the reports:


At 3:56 a.m., a female requested a welfare check at a hotel. A man was calling for help in one of the rooms. Officers determined during a visit that he was fine, and told him to keep it down.

At 4:04 p.m., a female reported a fight at an apartment complex. The report resulted in the arrest of an 18-year-old male for criminal trespass and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer.

At 5:14 p.m., a female reported attempted vandalism at a school. There were nails around the caller’s tires, and she wanted the incident on record.

At 5:34 p.m., an alarm sounded at a school. The building was secured.


At 4:14 a.m., a female reported a problem with a customer at a convenience store. The man was told not to return.

At 6:59 a.m., an officer reported found property at a hotel. The property was a cigarette box with marijuana inside.

At 8:50 a.m., a female reported a missing purse at a hotel. The caller had stayed at the hotel and believed her purse was stolen during breakfast. The purse was found, but money was reported missing.

At 9 a.m., a female reported threats at a school. The school staff said it would handle the incident.

At 11:44 a.m., a female reported shoplifting at a supermarket. The report resulted in the arrest of a man for shoplifting and trespassing.

At 1:02 p.m., a female reported vandalism at a church. It appeared that somebody had punched a window.

At 1:19 p.m., a female requested an officer at a car wash. Loud music was reported.
