Candidate supper set for Saturday
Candidates for the June 6 Quay County primary elections have been invited to an enchilada supper from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Nara Visa Community Center Gym.
All candidates will be given an opportunity to speak, and the event will conclude with a pie auction. Proceeds will benefit the community center.

Commodity distribution scheduled
The Quay County Government has announced USDA commodities will be distributed at 9 a.m. May 24 at the Travis Nelson Building of the Quay County Fairgrounds.

Diabetes program slated for Tuesday
The Quay County Extension Office will feature a program called “On The Road To Living Well With Diabetes.”
Those in attendance will receive personal results of four medical tests related to diabetes.
Two workshops will be held Tuesday at the Quay County Extension Office — once at 4 p.m. and again at 7 p.m.
Only those diagnosed with diabetes may attend and participants must pre-register for a time slot. Seating is limited at each session. The workshop and the tests are free.
For information or to register, call 461-0562.

Beverage education program offered
The Quay County Extension office is offering a workshop on the nutritional value of beverages. People with diabetes work hard to manage their diets by balancing the foods they are eating, but often it is the beverages that get them in trouble, officials said.
The workshop will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and repeated again at 5:15 p.m. in the Extension Office. The workshop is open to anyone who is interested.
