Billy Max Hazen, 77, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006 at the Colefax General Hospital in Springer.
Mr. Hazen was born April 13, 1929 at Mosquero. He had lived much of his life in Mosquero before moving to Hobbs for a short time and later, because of failing health, he moved to Springer. Mr. Hazen was a truck driver. He served his country during the Korean conflict in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyell S. and Elsie Hazen, and by his brother, Jiggs Hazen.
Survivors include his former wife, Lonita Hazen of Roy; four sons, Charles (Annett ) Knotts of Logan, James (Darlene) Hazen and Richard (Dorothy) Hazen, both of Roy, and Perry (Precilla) Hazen of Mountainair; 13 Grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Cody Hazen, Jerry Hazen, Jody Hazen, Chad Hazen, Kyle Hazen, Christopher Knotts and Boyd Hazen served as pall bearers. Roy Mitchell officiated services.
Burial followed at the family plot at the Mosquero Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
Marie Edith Cooper Kendrick

Marie Edith Cooper Kendrick, 90, of Dardanelle died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at Mitchell’s Nursing Home in Danville, Ark. She was a member of the Dardanelle Church of Christ and had recently retired from the Cornwell Funeral Home.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Clifton Riley of Dayton, Texas, Kenneth and Judith Cooper of Zepher Hills, Fla., a daughter Carolyn Cornwell of Danville,Ark., sister-in-law, Grace Hoskins of Tucumcari, five grandchildren and spouses, Darrell Riley and Lynn Riley of Dayton Texas, Michaelle Wilkins and Lance Wilkins of Danville, Allison Cornwell of Little Rock, Ark., Ashley Gregg and Brent Gregg of Conway, Ark., and Michael Rush Cornwell ,Jr. of Little Rock, five great-grandchildren, Brett Lee Wilkins, Carlee Grace Wilkins and Jarrett Lee Wilkins all of Danville, and Anna Caroline, Greg and Samuel Andrew Gregg of Conway and a friend, Jim Prochazka of Dardanelle.
She was proceeded in death by her husbands Paul Cooper and Herman Kendrick, daughter -in-law Sue Riley, a sister Gladys Pearson and three brothers Albert, Alfred and Clarence Hoskins.
Officiating are John McCourt and Brent Gregg. A eulogy will be given by her granddaughter, Allison Cornwell. Burial will be in the Bearley Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home. Visitation will be open.
Pallbearers will be Elders and Deacons of the Dardanelle Church of Christ. Honorary Pallbearers will be Oliver and Shirley Pickens and the staff of Cornwell Funeral Home.
