Looks like winter is close and a reminder to all: If we happen to have frost in the morning, the course will be closed until the frost has burnt off.
Plan a winter escape
Some folks have expressed interest in going to Arizona to play a little golf during the cold months. I have quite a few good contacts in that area, so if enough folks are interested let me know and I can work on some nice places to visit and get some good prices for us to enjoy.
Also let me know if you have the thought of going to Ireland or Scotland for a little longer trip.
I am going to set up a trip to Valaha Country Club in Kentucky for the Ryder Cup Matches in Sept. 2008.
Annual Turkey Shoot Scramble on Nov. 18, Shotgun start at 1 p.m. Teams will be blind, drawn by a committee, so we need all players, A,B,C,D men, women and children.
Entry fee will be $15 per player. There will be Turkey, Close-to-the-Hole and Long Drive prizes.
Pointer of Week
Position your sternum over the ball. Set your chest in line with (or slightly ahead of) the ball to achieve crisp contact on your chips.
To check, set up to the ball and hang a club from the center of your chest. Even if you already feel more weight on your front foot at address, make sure sternum is set forward as well.
