Louise Dow
Services: 10:30 a.m. today at the Dunn Memorial Chapel
Louise Dow, 90, died on Saturday Oct. 21, 2006, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Dow was born March 31, 1916 in Salisbury, Md. She had been a longtime Tucumcari resident coming to work at the Harvey House that accompanied the railroad on its way west. She had been a homemaker and an active member of the Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Tucumcari Extension Club, The Rebeccas and the Tucumcari Art League.
Surviving Mrs. Dow are her son, James (Barbara) Dow of Tucumcari, her daughter, Gail Fritschle of Discovery Bay, Calif.; a brother, William Larmore Jr. of Salisbury and along with three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Dow, in 1998; a grandson, James Dow, and a great-grandson, Michael Dean Dabau.
Bob Civil will officiate services. Burial will be in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.

Thelma Scott
Corley-Green
Services: 10 a.m., Thursday at the graveside at the Mount Ida Cemetery at DeQueen, Ark.
Thelma Scott Corley-Green, 82, died on Sunday Oct. 22, 2006 following an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 3, 1924 in DeQueen, Ark. She had been a homemaker. After leaving DeQueen, she moved to Artesia, later to Del Rio, Texas, and then to Logan in 1999 where had lived until death.
She was preceded in death by her first husband George Corley in 1970.
Surviving are her husband, Hubert Green of Logan, who she married in 1973, her son, Eddie Corley also of Logan, two step-sons, Robert (Margaret) Green of Tennessee, and Charles (Kay) Green of Texas, a step-daughter Peggy (Ken) Sawyer of Texas, eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Local arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari and graveside services are by the Wilkerson Funeral Home of DeQueen, Ark.

Tawanna Gill
Services: 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
Tawanna Gill, 84, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 in Albuquerque. Mrs. Gill had been making her home in Albuquerque because of failing health.
Mrs. Gill was born Aug. 31, 1921 in Tucumcari. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Tucumcari. She had worked in several retail businesses, including Sands-Dorsey Drug for many years, then at Bonems Clothier and then for many years at Denmores Corral in downtown Tucumcari, retiring from there.
Surviving Mrs. Gill are her daughter Donna Klecan of Albuquerque and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Gill in 1992.
Interment will follow in the family plot of the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.

Earnestine Carter

Earnestine Carter, 88, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 following an extended illness.
Mrs. Carter was born Aug. 10, 1918 in McAdoo, Texas, to Clark and Florence Ragland. She married Jackson Glenn Carter on Nov. 30, 1936. She has lived in the San Jon Area since 1934.
She was a homemaker and helped her husband Jack with the farm and cooked for the San Jon Schools for 11 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. In 2000, she was recognized as “Citizen of the Year” by the San Jon Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving Mrs. Carter are four sons, Alva (Mary Helen) Carter of Portales, Bob (Glenda) Carter of Lovington, Lucky (Peggy) Carter of Logan and Donald (Debbie) Carter of San Jon, one brother C. A. Ragland of Tucumcari, eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Carter, a son, Jackson Glenn Carter Jr., her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
