If the Tucumcari Rattlers get a rematch with district rival Santa Rosa, it will be for the Class 2A state championship.
Seeding for the football playoffs was released on the New Mexico Activities Association Web site at www.nmact.org
The Rattlers and Lions are on opposite sides of the 12-team playoff bracket, with the top four teams receiving first-round byes. The Lions, at 10-0, are Class 2A’s top seed. The Rattlers will host Dulce next weekend, with the winner facing third-ranked Capitan.
Host sites beyond the quarterfinals are determined by playoff histories of the teams — if Team A hosted Team B during their last playoff meeting, Team B hosts the next game. In the case of two teams having no playoff history, the home site is decided by a coin flip.
Tucumcari and Santa Rosa met Friday, with the host Lions claiming a 43-6 victory.
