Arthur R. “Duke” Primrose
Services: 11 a.m., Saturday in the First Baptist
Church in Tucumcari.
Arthur R. “Duke” Primrose age 75, died suddenly on
Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006.
 
Duke Primrose was born June 9, 1931 in Logan. He
attended the Logan School System.  He served his country in
the U.S. Army. 
Mr. Primrose was a rancher and was active in horse
breeding as well as raising and training horses at the time of
his death. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse
Association, the American Paint Horse Association and The Jockey
Club Thoroughbred Association.
 
Surviving Mr. Primrose is his wife Georgiana Primrose of Tucumcari and
three daughters, Lori Primrose-Shoulders of Henrietta, Okla.,
LaDawn Primrose-Smith of Burkburnett, Texas and Koel Primrose of
Tucumcari. Also surviving are his sister, Florence Osborn of Tucumcari, his
brother, Kenneth Presley Primrose of Roswell, nephews, Kenneth, Richard
and Darrell Primrose, and nieces, Phyliss Osborn and Karen Rouse.
He is preceded in death by his parents Nugent and Leona Primrose.
 
Bob Miller, minister of the South Georgia
Baptist Church of Amarillo, Texas will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. 
Pall Bearers will be Don Shook, Ray Nials, Jack Huntley, Carlos Lopez, Marvin Shoulders, Vern Smith, Carlos Ortiz, Ryan Hamilton, Justin Price, Atley Farrow, Denny Mac Welch, Lewis Kinkead, Roger Huntley, Pete Sisneros, Johnny Wayne Priddy and Leon Self.
