Services: Today, a memorial service will be held in Glendale, Az., and at 10 a.m. on Monday there will be funeral service at Steed-Todd Funeral Home, 800 E. Manana, Clovis.

Charles Parks Strain, 97, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, in Phoenix, Az.
Mr. Strain was born on Aug. 25, 1909 in Baird, Texas and completed high school in Canyon, Texas. He graduated from West Texas State Teachers College in 1931.
His occupations included high school teacher, band director; forester and firefighter; builder, contractor, draftsman; technical instructor at an Air Force base in Cheyenne, Wy/; lumber company worker; salesman; repairman; telephone line installer; and he was in the Army and National Guard. He also lived in Texas, New Mexico, Kansas, Wyoming, Colorado and Arizona.

Mr. Strain and his first wife, Ina Lennus Welsh Strain, who is deceased, had four children: Ken Strain of Phoenix, Phyllis Bolsinger of Portland, Ore., Jan Potter of Phoenix, and Ted Strain of Dallas.

His second wife, Tommie Storrie Strain, has four sons: Bryce Storrie of Albuquerque, Kirk Storrie who is deceased, Sandy Storrie of Hamilton, Ohio, and Bob Storrie, of Tenn. Tommie Strain is still living in Ohio with her son, Sandy, and his family. Between their two families, Charles and Tommie had eight children, 14 grand children, and 12 great grand children

Mr. Strain’s family said he was kind hearted, dependable, and appreciative, and he will be greatly missed.
Burial will be at Browning Cemetery near McAlister, N.M.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
