Eight is great
Kaitlyn J. Sena will celebrate her eighth birthday in Tucumcari with family and friends. Kaitlyn was born in Tucumcari. Her birthday was Friday.
Her parents are Sandy Sena and Paul and Tonya Sena of Tucumcari and Logan. Sisters are Katherine and Destanie Sena. Mariah Morrison is her stepsister. Cody Morrison is her stepbrother. Grandparents are Tom and Teresa Sisneros, Paul and Freda Sena, and the late Kathy Sandoval. Great-grandparents are Raymond and Lena Borguez and Maryann Sisneros.

Griffiths join Gaddies
George and Denise Gaddie announce the engagement of their daughter Kristen Gaddie, of Derby, Kan. to Kyle Griffiths of Logan. The couple will exchange vows at 2 p.m. on July 15 at Pleasantview Baptist Church.
The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University with a major in elementary education.
The groom-elect is 2005 graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University. He is a graduate student at Oklahoma State University.

Choate honored by school
Jennifer Choate of Tucumcari was honored recently by the West Texas A&M University College of Business. The school announced its scholarship recipients for the 2006-2007 academic year and its outstanding graduates and award winners during the college’s annual Convocation on April 20 on campus.
Choate, who won the H. Eugene Worsham/Brown, Graham & Co. Scholarship, is a junior accounting major.

A soldier graduates
Army Sgt. Maj. Duane J. Harb is one of 46 students of Class 56 who graduated from the Sergeants Major Course at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas. The class graduated a month early to allow graduates to prepare for a scheduled deployment.
The nine-month course is considered to be the capstone of noncommissioned officer training, preparing new and prospective sergeants major for duties as senior noncommissioned officers in positions throughout the Department of Defense and allied nation forces.
Completion of the course is mandatory for promotion to sergeant major and command sergeant major.
Harb is a mechanical maintenance supervisor with 27 years of military service. He is the son of Nora J. Harb of Tucumcari.
