01-17-2007: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department, during the last few days. According to reports:

Saturday
• At 4:12 a.m., a male reported an unattended death at a fuel station on South Mountain Road. An officer advised that one male subject was deceased in the sleeper cab of his semi truck. The deceased was transported to the funeral home and the cause of death is still under investigation.

• At 8:53 p.m., a female reported a suspicious subject in front of a fuel station on South Rock Island Street. An officer advised that the subject was asleep inside of a running vehicle. The officer was told that the subject had tried to buy alcohol with out an license and had left the building to get it. The male subject was arrested for driving while intoxicated, open container and driving while his license was suspended or revoked.

• At 9:18 p.m., a female reported three unwanted subjects in her residence on East Turner who would not leave. An officer advised that the subjects had left prior to his arrival.

Sunday
• At 2:21 p.m., a female reported vandalism at her residence on East Turner. The officer advised that during the night someone had let the air out of the tires parked in front of the residence.

• At 6:33 p.m., an alarm was reported at a business on South First Street. An officer checked the build and advised that all was OK.

Monday
• At 3:35 a.m., a female reported a possible prowler outside of her residence on East Turner. The female told the officer that she heard someone outside of her residence trying to open one of the windows. The officer checked around the residence and advised that all was secure.

• At 4:22 a.m., an alarm was reported at a restaurant on South First Street. An officer checked the building and advised that all was OK and the alarm was reset.

• At 1:27 p.m., a female reported larceny at her residence on East Center Street. An officer advised that all was OK and that no theft had occurred.

• At 2:11 p.m., an alarm was reported at a residence on Quay Road 63. A deputy advised that the residence was secure and all was OK.

• At 9:30 p.m., a female reported a prowler at her residence on South Jackson Street. An officer checked around the residence and advised that all was OK.

• At 11:27 p.m., a female reported a domestic dispute at her residence on South Seventh Street. An officer advised that the female and her boyfriend had a verbal argument and that the female was staying at a friend’s house for the night.
