The Arch Hurley Conservancy District Board of Directors has offered the position of general manager to one of five candidates, said Larry Perkins, chairman of the board.
“The majority of the board agreed on the candidate. But the offer has accepted or rejected,” said Perkins. “We called the candidate at 8:30 p.m. (on Tuesday).”
The board met at 5:30 p.m. in a closed executive session to determine which of the five candidates would be offered the job.
The five candidates were:
• William Conrad of Logan
• Mike Delano of Roy
• Ralph Lopez of Tucumcari
• Franklin McCasland, former board chairman of Arch Hurley, of Tucumcari, and
• Mark Preciado, acting general manager of Arch Hurley of Tucumcari.
Perkins said the board was split three to two in favor of the candidate who was offered the job.
“We expect to know by the close of the business day on Thursday,” if the candidate has accepted the position, Perkins said.
At that time, the board will schedule an open meeting to release the name and the conditions of employment, Perkins said.
If the candidate does not accept, the board will begin the reviewing process again, Perkins said.
