Texico sweeps THS
Junior Casey Crist went 7-for-7 from the free throw line and scored a career-best 21 points to help Texico clinch a tie for the District 6-2A regular-season title with a 68-41 win over visiting Tucumcari.

Junior Daniel Schueler added 19 points for the Wolverines (21-3, 5-0), who built a 20-point lead late in the first half. Texico travels to second-place Santa Rosa on Friday, needing a win to avoid a playoff for the top seed in the district tournament.

Andrez Apodaca led the Rattlers with 15 points.

Bryn Mayfield put in 14 points and Katlin Luscombe added 10 as Texico locked up the District 6-2A regular-season title with a 52-12 blitz of Tucumcari at Texico.
The Lady Wolverines thoroughly dominated, opening a 38-1 lead at halftime over the Lady Rattlers. Ashley Lopez accounted for seven of Tucumcari’s points.

Logan girls 52, Mosquero 32
Logan trailed early, but put matters away by outscoring visiting Mosquero 30-9 in the second and third quarters to take a 52-32 win Tuesday night.

Megan Frost scored 11 points and Jessica Aguilera added nine for the Lady Longhorns.

Mosquero’s Amanda Reyna matched Frost for game highs with 11 points.

Clovis Christian 46, San Jon Girls 33
Sophomore Jennifer Schaap scored 16 points and freshman Jocelyn Swann added 12 as Clovis Christian downed San Jon 46-33 in District 4-1A at CCS.

The Lady Eagles (16-9, 6-3) opened a 13-point halftime lead and were not seriously threatened. Senior Janay Breshear led the Lady Coyotes with 10 points.

Richard Vasquez scored 23 to lead four Coyotes in double figures, and San Jon built off of a 14-7 first quarter to beat Clovis Christian74-57.

Will McEntire scored 16, Danny Shetter 15 and Tyce Foster added 11 in the victory.
