Services: 10 a.m., Friday at First Baptist Church at Logan.
Wayne Horne, 75, died Monday, Feb. 12, at his home near Logan, following an extended illness.
Mr. Horne was born Nov. 17, 1931 at Bard. He graduated from San Jon High School in 1949 and attended the New Mexico State University in Las Cruces before joining the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Logan Baptist Church. He was a lifetime resident of Quay County and had been a farmer and rancher.
Surviving Mr. Horne is his wife of 48 years, Vivian of Logan, three children, a son, Mike (Johna) Horne of Logan, and two daughters, Glenda (Steve) Northrup of Roswell, and Carol (Michael) Hicklin of Logan. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Cody and Holly Northrup, Darin Hicklin, and Lora, Cheyenne, and Sierra Horne, two sisters, Wanda (Jack) Wallace of Las Cruces and Roberta Brashear of San Jon.
He was preceded in death by his parents Horace and Ella Horne and by one brother, Robert Horne.
Steve Kulback and Fred Boatman will officiate at the services. Pall bearers will be Craig Brashear, Shane Buxton, Ronald Stoner, Elmer Boatman, Bill Lynn, and Johnny Irving. Honorary pall bearers will be all close friends.
Burial will be in the family plot of the Logan Cemetery at Logan
The family suggests that donations may be made to the Tucumcari Helping Hands Hospice or the Baptist Childrens Home in Portales, in memory of Wayne Horne.
