Votes for the election of two positions on the Board of Trustees at the Mesalands Community College were tallied last night at the Quay County Courthouse.
Turnout in the election – for the two candidates who were unopposed – was sparse.
Jimmy R. Sandoval, who ran from District 2, received 8 votes out a possible 709 registered voters.
J. Bronson Moore who ran in District 4 received 20 votes out of a possible 1,039 registered voters.
Elections were held at the Quay County Courthouse and not at the district polling places to reduce costs of the election, according to Ellen White, Quay County Clerk.
