Do you want customers to stay longer, spend more?
Don’t miss out on this chance to increase your business income, said Brenda Bishop, Quay County Extension home economist.
The Quay County Rural Economic Development Through Tourism Council (RDTT) is bringing Allison Southworth to Tucumcari, Bishop said.
Southworth will present a hospitality training program called “Catch Our Enchanted Spirit.” Southworth has trained thousands of employees which has helped businesses by increasing their repeat business, Bishop said.
Here are some of the questions Southworth helps business to answer about their operations and communities.
Do your employees need to know how to deal with difficult customers? Do you often get the question, “What’s there to do around here?”
Participants will also learn that how they say something will make all the difference.  said Bishop. “There are three components to this training: who comes to our community, what is quality customer service, tips and techniques for successful hosting,” she said.
Bishop also said, “A first impression will make a difference in the success of any business.  If someone likes the look of your business, they will browse longer and spend more.  If they like the way they were treated, they will come back.  Repeat business is important for all businesses.”
The program is free for businesses in Quay Count, she said.
But each business is asked to call and reserve a spot, so that there will have plenty of handouts, Bishop said.
Each participant will receive a training manual and a certificate. The business will receive a certificate ready to frame, information to pass on to the public and hopefully increased business, she said.
A session especially for business owners and managers will be March 20 from 5:30 p.m-7:30 p.m. at Mesalands Community College in room A121.
The workshop for employees will be offered twice on March 21 from 8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. or from 2 p.m.-4:30 p.m. in room A121 at Mesalands.
To register or for more information, call Brenda Bishop, at 461-0562.
The workshop is sponsored by the Quay County REDTT Council and the Quay County Extension Service.
