THS drama class stages 1930s Hollywood parody
What happens when the world’s worst movie producer travels to Vansyltrania to produce his next horrible horror movie? To find out, be at the Tucumcari High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. That’s where the drama class of Tucumcari High School will present a parody on 1930s Hollywood called, “Unwrapped: A Comedy of Horrific Proportions.” Cost is $3.
The play is directed by Peggy Szaloy. Cast members include Josh Bullard, Tawni Davis, Josh Enriquez, Desirae Evans, Nicole Garcia, Ryan Jaynes, Leigh-Anna Lauriault, Adam Meerza, Chuck Morrison, Dony Price, Jessica Rey, Jasmine Rivera, Anna Romero, Dustin Russell, Brandon Sours, Stephanie Valverde, Drew White and Keshia White.
Time to order fairboard briskets
Just in time for Easter, the Quay County Fairboard will be cooking their famous briskets. Only 150 briskets will be available so they will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Briskets should be picked up on April 6 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Big Barn at the Quay County Fairgrounds. Briskets will be $40. Pre-cooked weight will be about 10 pounds. To reserve your brisket, call Nick at 461-1184. Proceeds will go to cover expenses for the 2007 Quay County Fair. Reserve briskets by March 23.
Tucumcari Middle School students to be recognized
Tucumcari Middle School students who made the honor roll will be recognized at an assembly at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday in the Tucumcari Middle School gym.
Groundbreaking set for center at Glen Rio
A ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the new Glen Rio Rest Area and Visitor Center will be at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Glen Rio Rest Area, mile marker 378 on I-40. The New Mexico Department of Transportation, District 4, is hosting the event. The public is invited to attend.
Universities to host special concert
The Eastern New Mexico University Department of Music and the University Friends of Music are presenting a special concert of the ENMU-Portales and the ENMU-Roswell choirs performing the Choral Music of Franz Schubert at 4 p.m. on March 18 in the University Theatre Center on the Portales campus. The choirs will be accompanied by the Caprock Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra from Lubbock, Texas, and directed by Jason Paulk, director of choral activities at ENMU.
