Services: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., today visitation, followed by a rosary, at San Clemente Church in Los Lunas. At 10 a.m. on Tuesday funeral services at San Clemente Church.
Antonio “Anthony” Romo, 77, of Los Lunas died Saturday, March 17, 2007, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born Feb. 21, 1930 in Tucumcari.
Mr. Romo is survived by: his beloved wife of 53 years Patsy; his loving daughter, Johanna Romo, and husband, Mark McConnell; sons, Anthony, Charles and wife Denise, Patrick, Michael, John and wife Laura, Robert and wife Elizabeth, Gabriel and wife Mechelle; a sister, Erlinda Rael, a brother George Romo and sister-in-law Juanita Gonzales.
He is also survived by grandchildren Quentin, Christine, Amberley, Olivia, Alexandria, Robert, John, Caroline, Elliott, Isabella, Sidney and Quinn and several nieces and nephews.
He retired after 33 years of service with the Agricultural Extension Service of New Mexico State University. He was the recipient of the James Cole award and a member of the College of Agriculture and Home Economics Sam Steel Society.
Mr. Romo was a past exulted ruler and a charter and life member of the Belen, N.M., Elks Lodge 2499, a past president and member of the Los Lunas Rotary Club and a recipient of the Rotarys Paul Harris Fellow award, a standing member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a member of the New Mexico Retired Educators Association Belen/Los Lunas chapter.
He also was a fourth degree Knight and member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly 687 Belen and a longtime parishioner and lecturer at San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas.
He was a life long supporter of Youth in 4-H and served Valencia County as county manager.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Theresa, his parents Abelina Quintana Romo and Baltazar Romo, and his brother Baltazar Romo, Jr.
Burial will be at Pajarito Catholic Cemetery.
