03-28-2007: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department, during the last few days. According to reports:

Friday
• At 11:12 a.m., a female came to the police department on East Center Street to report battery. An officer advised that the second party was at a residence on South Third Street. One male subject was arrested for abuse of a child and aggravated battery of a household member.
• At 12:46 p.m., a female reported a disturbance on West Route 66. An officer was told that two juveniles were throwing rocks at passing vehicles. The officer patrolled the area and advised that the juveniles had left the area.
• At 1:36 p.m., a male reported larceny at his residence on South Fifth Street. An officer advised that a dog house had been taken out of the back yard.
• At 8:27 p.m., a male reported an unwanted subject at a lounge on West Tucumcari Boulevard. A officer was told that a male subject had taken property that did not belong to him. The property was returned and the male subject was told to leave.
• At 10:34 p.m., a male reported a disturbance at the bus station on South First Street. An officer advised that a male and female passenger were removed from the bus and taken to a motel to await the next bus in the morning.

Saturday
• At 11:53 a.m., a female reported a theft at a retail store on East Tucumcari Boulevard. An officer advised that a set of keys had been removed from the vehicle. An investigation is under way.
• At 3:05 p.m., a male reported vandalism at a car wash on West Tucumcari Boulevard. An officer advised that the coin holder on the vacuum machine had been cut off. An investigation is under way.
• At 4:30 p.m., a female reported a disturbance on East Rankin Street. An officer was told that two juveniles were riding on the street on four wheelers. The officer located the juveniles and told them not to ride on the street.
• At 8:09 p.m., a female reported a theft at a gas station on East Tucumcari Boulevard. An officer was told that a male subject had left the building without paying for alcohol. The male subject was located and the property was returned.

Sunday
• At 1:52 a.m., a male reported juveniles fighting at a park on North First Street. An officer located two male juveniles and gave them a ride home.
• At 3:21 p.m., a routine traffic stop on South Adams Street lead to the arrest of a female for a outstanding warrant from Guadalupe County.

Monday
• At 9:50 a.m., a female reported larceny at a motel on West Route 66. An officer was told that a male subject broke into a vehicle and took a set of keys, a cigarette case and some money. An investigation is under way.
