Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Dalhart Pentecostal Church, Dalhart, Texas.
Loretta Snyder, 73, died Monday, March 26, 2007.
Mrs. Snyder was born on June 20, 1932 and raised in Dalhart. She married Charlie Snyder in 1947 and was his wife, companion and home-marker. As a rancher’s wife, she provided family structure to five children as Charlie worked for many area ranches such as the TO Cattle Co., 6666 Ranch, LS Ranch, Cross F Ranch, Snead Cattle Co. and the North Ranch. About 20 years ago Loretta and Charlie relocated to Amarillo, where she continued her 14-year employment with Gebo’s from Dalhart to Amarillo as Charlie worked for the Range Riders. As a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. Snyder placed her family’s needs and support over her own and never was one to ask for anything in return, family members said.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996; one son, Robert, in 1982; one daughter, Sharon, in 2005; one grandson, Arnes, in 2002, three sisters and four brothers.
Mrs. Snyder is survived by two sons: Gary Snyder of Amarillo, David (LaDonna) Snyder of Lubbock, a daughter Charlotte (Dale) Stull of Nara Visa, New Mexico, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Robert E. Field and Bernie Frazier will officiate at the service. Burial will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart.
The family suggests memorials be sent to BSA Hospice P.O. Box 950 Amarillo, Texas 79105.
